The plant likes rich organic material in moist soil but once established it needs little care or attention. Ideal for homes located in woodland areas, woodland gardens or any shaded place that has good airflow. We suspect that deer will eat them, (ours are protected just in case), and would recommend anyone with deer or rabbit problems to also protect their plants. Very hardy to zone 3.
Description of Fairybells (Uvularia grandiflora).
A hardy woodland perennial it is hardy to zone 3. In early spring it puts up smooth stems that can reach 1-2 feet (30-60 cm) in height and has a protective sheath at the base. Plants can produce many stems from the basal root. In immature plants the stems are non branching and do not flower. When fairybells mature the stems branch into two with one branch being sterile and producing only leaves and the other producing flowers. The leaves are light green in color up to 6" (15 cm) long and 2" (5 cm) wide lance shaped with a pointed tip and are arranged alternately on the stem. The base of the leaves are round and completely surround the stem (known as perfoliate) and have several distinct veins running parallel to the central vein of the leaf. The leaf edges are often rolled under with fine white hairs visible on the underside; leaves are often slightly twisted. The flowers are yellow up to 2" (5 cm) long bell shaped and drooping with six narrow tepals (not real petals but they look just like them) that are slightly twisted. This gives them a much more elegant look. Anywhere from 1-4 flowers are produce per stem, and the blooms are fairly long lasting, appearing anywhere from early spring to early summer depending on the location. Flowers are followed by 3 sectioned seed capsules that look like inverted pyramids with rounded corners that stay on the plant for long periods increasing their attractiveness.

Bellwort
Uvularia grandiflora
Light: Partial, Shade
Soil: Sand, Loam, Clay
Moisture: Dry, Medium
Height: 1'-2'
Blooms: May, Jun
Zones: 3, 4, 5, 6, 7
Color: Yellow
Spacing: 1'

Materials: Native Wildflowers,Fairybells,Bellwort,Uvularia grandiflora, yellow flowers, shade, woodland garden, shaded border front, wildflower garden, naturalized area,Mass plantings, under shade trees, along wood margins Select your desired size and color from the available option
WIZARD SERIES
Coleus Seeds

Compact, base-branching plants grow just 10-12 inches high and never need pinching. Avoid overly damp soils, which can cause leaf drop and encourage disease. It is most impressive when planted in large sweeping masses.
Information source: http://learn2grow.com/plants/tricyrtis-hirta/

Genus - Tricyrtis
Species - Hirta
Common name - Japanese Toad Lily
Pre-Treatment - Required
Hardiness zones - 4 - 9
Height - 0,45 - 0,75 m
Spread - 0,50 - 0,60 m
Plant type - Perennial flower
Exposure - Partial Shade, Full Shade
Growth rate - Medium
Soil PH - Acidic, Neutral
Soil type - Clay, loam, well drained
Water requirements - Average
Landscape uses - Feature Plant, Groundcover, Mixed Border
Bloom season - August - October
Leaf / Flower color - Green / White, Purple, Burgundy

GERMINATION INSTRUCTIONS
Sow from January to March indoors in pots or trays of seed compost.
Sow thinly, cover with a very fine layer of compost.
Cover with glas or clear plastic.
Keep at +20C.
Germination time - 28-42 days.
If germination has not started, transfer to refrigerator for 2 weeks before returning to the warmth to trigger germination process.

Best sown indoors at 55-65° with NO cover as light aids in germination

Seed germination will be erratic and will occur over 30-50 days

It is not recommended to sow seeds outdoors

First and only trailing Verbena from seed. They should receive direct sunlight only early in the morning. Because these are tropical plants, they are most often grown in containers indoors, or if outdoors, in areas with warm winters and comfortable (not overly hot) summers. Excessive heat and humidity in summer will diminish and wither these begonias. When plants begin to yellow in the autumn after flowering, reduce watering to induce the natural winter dormancy. Voted the 2011 Hosta of the Year by the American Hosta Growers Association.

to 24-30" wide.

Flower: Showy

Height: 1.00 to 1.50 feet

Leaf: Colorful

America's favorite shade perennial

Grown for their lush foliage

Very long lived perennial, which grows bigger and more impressive with each season

Hosta's are not grown for their flowers but for their foliage, which are prettier than the flowers

Bulb size is top size

Hosta's are not grown for their flowers but for their foliage, which are prettier than the flowers and which come in a spectrum of blues, golds, greens, yellows and whites as well as variegated, some speckled and others striped.

They thrive in the shade, even though they can with stand some sun, are long-lived and low-maintenance. Sandy loam is better than clay because it provides more aeration for the roots. High-filtered or dappled sunlight is necessary for clean, healthy growth. Morning sun is tolerable and will help to intensify the leaf colors, but hot afternoon sun is usually deadly to hostas. They are most at home in shady, woodland settings and often work well as specimen or edging plants.

Hostas are very easy to propagate through division. This can be done at any time during the growing season with little or no affect on the growth of the parent plant. Since each division should have at least 3 eyes, plants should be allowed to mature for several years before being divided.

Especially in northern zones, hostas should be mulched with a layer of finely shredded organic material to prevent heaving in the winter. Mulch is beneficial because it retains moisture around the plant's roots, but it is also the ideal place for slugs to hide. Watch for holes in the center of the leaves. If they are present, so are slugs. Applying a slug bait in early spring when new shoots are beginning to emerge will help to reduce the slug population. After a few years when plants are firmly established, the mulch can be removed completely, which should eliminate the slug problem altogether. Also be sure to clean all hosta foliage out of the garden in early winter after the plants have gone dormant. By doing so, you will be ridding the area of the eggs of slugs and other leaf-eating insects.

Offering bold color from foundation plantings to flower beds, the Stained Glass Hosta is named for its prominent foliage veining, which resembles the appearance of stained glass. When grown in masses or used as a bedding plant, individual plants should be spaced approximately 20 inches apart. Although it's not a true annual, this fast-growing plant can be expected to behave as an annual in our climate if left outdoors over the winter, usually needing replacement the following year. As such, gardeners should take into consideration that it will perform differently than it would in its native habitat.

This plant performs well in both full sun and full shade. However, you may want to keep it away from hot, dry locations that receive direct afternoon sun or which get reflected sunlight, such as against the south side of a white wall. It requires an evenly moist well-drained soil for optimal growth, but will die in standing water. It is not particular as to soil pH, but grows best in rich soils. It is highly tolerant of urban pollution and will even thrive in inner city environments. Consider applying a thick mulch around the root zone over the growing season to conserve soil moisture. This is a selected variety of a species not originally from North America. It can be propagated by cuttings; however, as a cultivated variety, be aware that it may be subject to certain restrictions or prohibitions on propagation.

Songbird Coleus is a fine choice for the garden, but it is also a good selection for planting in outdoor containers and hanging baskets. With its upright habit of growth, it is best suited for use as a 'thriller' in the 'spiller-thriller-filler' container combination; plant it near the center of the pot, surrounded by smaller plants and those that spill over the edges. It is even sizeable enough that it can be grown alone in a suitable container. Note that when growing plants in outdoor containers and baskets, they may require more frequent waterings than they would in the yard or garden.

Select your desired size and color from the available option
