Choose well-drained soil or a freely draining potting mix. Set rooted plants at their existing soil level and allow room for spreading stems.

Provide sun to partial shade, introducing strong sunlight gradually. Water when the root zone begins to dry, allowing excess water to drain. Avoid persistently soggy soil. Trim long stems to shape the plant and keep it from crowding smaller companions.

Growing in Pots and Hanging Baskets

Choose a container with drainage holes and space for root growth. Position the vine near an edge so stems can trail naturally. Check moisture regularly, especially in hanging baskets, which can dry quickly in wind and warm weather.

Feed during active growth with a suitable ornamental-plant fertilizer according to its label. Keep pots out of standing water and trim as needed to maintain a balanced display.

Growing in Warm Areas

Warm conditions encourage active growth. In very hot areas, provide morning sun with protection from intense afternoon heat, especially while plants establish. Keep container roots away from hot paving and heat-reflecting walls where possible.

Water according to soil moisture rather than a fixed schedule, and maintain good drainage during rainy periods. In frost-free areas, monitor spreading stems and prune to keep growth within the intended planting space.

Cool-Weather and Indoor Care

Protect from frost. In cold-winter regions, enjoy as a seasonal outdoor ornamental or move a manageable container to a bright, frost-free indoor space before cold weather. Indoor growth may slow in lower light; adjust watering accordingly.

Ornamental Use

This listing describes an ornamental foliage plant, not a food-crop variety. Do not consume supplied plant material or tubers without confirming suitability and treatment history.
