Pinkhead Smartweed (Polygonum Capitatum) - Low-growing, spreading ground cover with burgundy foliage and coral-pink flowers. Also known as Persicaria Capitata, it can be used in containers, as edging, or for raised beds in sun or shade..
Begin the germination process for Polygonum Capitatum seeds in late winter if you live in an area with a short growing season. Use high-quality, seed starting soil and small pots. Gently press the ground cover seeds into the damp soil and lightly cover them. Keep the soil moist until germination occurs. Once the risk of frost has passed, transfer the seedlings outdoors and harden the ground cover plants for at least 10 days. For areas with a longer growing season, directly sow Pink Knotweeds outdoors after the threat of frost has passed. Prepare a weed-free area and lightly cover the seeds with soil after broadcasting.
