Senecio Mini Blue, also known as Compact Blue Chalksticks, is a frost-tender perennial hailing from South Africa. With an upright mat-forming habit, this plant is smaller than Mandraliscae or Serpens, growing to just 3-5" tall and 12" wide, boasting 1-2" long fleshy deep blue silvery leaves. Drought tolerant and blooming with white flowers in the summer, Mini Blue Chalksticks thrives in full or partial sun, making it an ideal ground cover for frost-free xeriscapes or a beautiful addition to any indoor space as a houseplant. For colder climates, it is recommended to bring outdoor containers inside during the winter season. Create a stunning houseplant collection by growing Mini Blue alongside other succulents. It thrives in partial sun or bright indirect light, and requires well-draining soil and minimal watering.
- Water when on the dry side
- Prefers bright, indirect light or filtered window light
- Trim as needed
- Soil: Should be loose and porous like a cactus soil
This succulent thrives in partial sun or bright indirect light, preferring well-draining soil and minimal watering. It can also be grown indoors as a stunning houseplant or added to frost-free xeriscapes for ornamental purposes. In colder climates, bring outdoor containers inside during the winter for protection.
- We recommend planting 4-5 starter plants per 10 inch basket. Use a well-drained soil in your baskets and plant your starter plants deep, allowing the elpot to be completely covered by the soil. If you are planting 4" pots, 1 plant per pot should be sufficient. Plant it directly in the middle of your pot.
- Best in fertile, well-drained soil. Keep soil moist, watering freely in dry weather. Apply a balanced liquid fertilizer monthly. Trim back as needed to keep neat and compact.
