Caladium BULBS - All Season Mixed are versatile and easy to grow, making them the perfect choice for your indoor or outdoor garden. Plant them in well-drained soil, in a warm and shaded location during the spring, or grow them indoors in pots.
Plant your Caladium tubers in the spring after the danger of frost has passed, when daytime temperatures consistently reach at least 70 degrees. These plants require warm soil to grow, but if you live in a colder area and want to start early, you can begin planting indoors 4-6 weeks before the average last frost date. After planting, the tubers will produce sprouts and roots within a few weeks, depending on the quality of the soil and air temperature.
- For outdoor landscape planting,Choose a location that offers filtered sunlight, bright indirect light, or partial shade for your Caladiums. Carefully dig holes and plant the tubers 2 inches deep with a spacing of 8-12 inches between them, ensuring that the growing points or "eyes" are facing upwards.
- For container planting,
How to Grow
Maintain consistently damp soil for your Caladiums, but avoid overwatering to prevent soggy conditions. After the season, remove any yellow foliage to tidy up your garden. In colder or wetter climates, dig up the tubers before the first frost in fall and let them air dry for several days before storing in a cool location with peat moss. Give your Caladiums a few months of rest before beginning the next growing cycle.
