Planting Peruvian Daffodil Bulbs
Native to S. America, Peruvian daffodils are hardy in zones 8 to 10, but can be grown outside this range if the bulbs are dug up and stored in a frost-free location over winter.
Choose an area in full sun or light shade for growing Peruvian daffodils,
Plant Peruvian daffodil bulbs in spring or fall, 3-5 inches deep in well-drained, humus-rich soil. They can thrive in bog-like conditions and tolerate sandy or clay soil, but keep the soil moist during growth. Ideal for containers, with attractive green foliage post-flowering. In colder regions, bring containers indoors for winter and reduce watering.
Peruvian daffodils are a popular choice for cut flowers in outdoor gardens. They also bring added charm to mixed beds and borders. To protect against frost, it is recommended to dig up the bulbs and store them for winter.
