The Dahlia Cactus, 'Friquolet', boasts deep-red double flowers with tightly-rolled petals and white-dipped tips. These stunning blooms, which can grow up to 4-6” wide, require minimal staking and remain upright even during heavy rains. This prolific variety produces flowers from mid-summer until the first frost, making it a top pick for sunny borders and containers.
Dahlias can thrive in zones 8-10 for years, but in colder zones, tubers can be dug up after the first frost, stored during the winter, and replanted in the spring. Ensure they are planted in a sunny location with well-draining soil and consistent moisture. Keep blooms fresh by removing spent flowers and promote bigger flowers by pinching off small side buds. Enjoy an endless display of vibrant colors.
