Okay, here’s F. raddeana‘s attributes:

It’s every early.
It has a discrete beauty.
It’s dynamite with Helleborus ‘Candy Love’.
It isn’t as skunky as crown imperials.
It’s just smelly enough to deter deer.

Detailed Description
A stunningly beautiful plant with tall stems to 40cm topped with a crowded whorl of bright straw yellow, although some say lichen-green, flowers in March/April. With a striking resemblance to a "Crown Imperial Fritillary" this stately plant can take your breath away on first encounter. It grows well in sun or partial shade and is utterly reliable, increasing yearly in good soil.
- SOWING ADVICE: SOW SEEDS AT ANY TIME COVERING THEM WITH COMPOST OR GRIT 5MM DEEP, KEEPING THE SEED POT IN A COOL, WELL-LIT SPOT OUTDOORS. ARTIFICIAL HEAT IS NOT NEEDED AND PREVENT GERMINATION SO BE VERY PATIENT AS MANY SPECIES WILL ONLY GERMINATE IN THE SPRING AFTER CHILLING OR FREEZING IN THE MOIST SEED TRAY IN THE WINTER. GROW ON INDIVIDUAL SEEDLINGS IN SMALL POTS UNTIL OF SUFFICIENT SIZE TO BE POTTED ON OR PLANTED OUT INTO THE OPEN GROUND.

Additional Policies and FAQs
What is an heirloom or heritage seed?
The terms heirloom and heritage are synonymous. An heirloom plant is an
open-pollinated, cultivated plant, or cultivar. Heirloom plants are not used in
modern large-scale agricultural, but they were traditionally grown during
earlier periods in human history. All heirloom seed are open-pollinated.
What is the difference
between open-pollinated and hybrid seeds?
Open-pollinated plants are pollinated by birds, insects, wind, or other natural
means. Under these conditions the plant will produce seeds naturally. When
these seeds are harvested and re-planted they will reproduce the same plant as
the parent. Conversely, a hybrid plant is the result of controlled pollination
of inbred parent plants. The plant’s seeds are often sterile and, if they do
germinate, they will not reliably produce the same plant as the parent or the
yields.
What is the difference
between GMO and non-GMO seeds?
A genetically modified organism (GMO) is an organism whose genetic substance
has been changed using genetic engineering methods. Non-GMO seeds have not been
genetically changed, and they are traditionally the same as they were
originally created. Non-GMO seeds have all of the nutrition that animal and
human bodies need for maximum growth and nutrition. Traditional seeds grow into
plants that have been consumed for thousands of years. Non-GMO seeds offer you
the peace of mind that the foods you grow and eat are as nature intended.
