These Red Peter Pepper Seeds (Capsicum annuum) require 100+ days to mature. The plant yields 3 ¼" long by 1" wide penis shaped peppers that are mildly hot and turn from green to red when ripe. With its green stems, leaves, and white flowers, this plant is adaptable to various growing conditions.

For optimal results, use high-quality, lightweight seed starting material infused with slow-release fertilizer. We suggest utilizing Miracle-Gro® Seed Starting Potting Mix for best outcomes.

Planting Method

Place the Red Peter Pepper seeds in a plastic container with the appropriate starting mix. For optimal growth, plant the seeds approximately 1/4" deep, or twice the size of the seed itself. To ensure successful germination, avoid planting the seeds too deeply as this may lead to rotting. Use a plastic garden marker to label the variety and planting date, and insert it into the cell pack or plastic pot.

Enhance the germination process by watering the seeds with hot water. Keep the pots in a consistently warm environment at 85 degrees Fahrenheit, as some types of hot peppers may not sprout and may decay in lower temperatures. If you lack an indoor garden or greenhouse, a compact utility room is suitable.

Avoid using plastic tray covers for growing hot pepper seeds as this can create a humid environment that may hinder germination for certain pepper varieties. It is important to have appropriate overhead ventilation to ensure the seeds receive the necessary air (oxygen) for germination.te.

The seeds do not require sunlight to germinate, but it is recommended to place them under 10-16 hours of fluorescent lighting per day once sprouted. A cooler temperature of 70 degrees Fahrenheit can be maintained after sprouting.
