  • 1 oz - Approximately 7,500 Seeds

San Marzano tomatoes, a type of plum tomato, are highly prized by chefs for their intense red color and resistance to cracking. Their determinate, vigorous vines produce abundant fruit, making them a top choice for paste, puree, and canning.

Italian Compact & Prolific producer of bright-red, slim, 2-3" plum-type fruit. Ideal for tomato sauce with its pointed end, heavy walls, and low juice content. Crack-resistant.
Estimated Maturity Time: 70 Days Height Range: 12' to 36' Vegetable Spacing: 30'

Sowing: Start tomato seeds indoors 6-8 weeks before last spring frost, sowing 1/4" deep and 1" apart. Keep temp at 70-75F, provide light, and ensure drainage. Transplant when second set of leaves appear, burying stems to lowest leaves. Harden seedlings before planting outside after all frost has passed. Plant in full sun and rich soil, spacing 2' apart with trellis or 3-4' apart without. Consider companion planting with carrots or onions, avoiding cabbage or tomatoes.

Growing:To optimize your indeterminate tomato plants, use a trellis or support to protect them from pests and diseases. Add the support before vines develop and prune suckers for better production and strength. Avoid leaf contact with water, cover plants in colder temperatures, and maintain moisture with mulch and weekly watering.

Harvesting: Check tomato ripeness by gently pressing and observing its color. Remove with scissors if stem is difficult to detach, and harvest all before frost. Unripe ones will still ripen when kept warm and out of direct sunlight.
