The Spanish Tolosana bean, also known as Prince bean, is a beautiful bean with a red and light brown coloration. Similar in flavor to the White Aztec, these beans are highly sought after for their unique and delicious taste. Their seeds make a great addition to any garden.

This heirloom bean, known as the Spanish Tolosana, originated from the New World and was later introduced to Spain by missionaries. Its popularity in Europe has made it a treasured variety, while in the United States, it remains a rare find. It is also commonly referred to as "The Prince."

The Spanish Tolosana Bean, a dry shell variety, has a tall bush growth habit and produces 1/4" wide and 1/2" long beans with a mild flavor and creamy texture. It is ideal for recipes that call for kidney beans, and is ready to be picked after 85 days.

Plant the seeds directly in well-drained soil in a sunny location once the last frost has passed. Space the seeds 2-3 inches apart and ensure the soil is warm (around 60°F). Use a trellis or pole for vining varieties and water regularly to keep the soil moist, but not soggy.

Ensure optimal bean production by harvesting the pods at the proper time when they are fully developed and dried, usually after 100-140 days of growth. It is important to select a variety of Bean Seeds Bush, Spanish Tolosana that is well-suited for your specific climate and growing environment.

Great spread

This bean is so creamy it makes a great bean spread when cooked, blended smooth with herbs and/or spices added. Great for spreading on wraps then adding fillings of choice. Easy and looks pretty when spread on toastie entrees. Yummy bean and really easy to grow in warm areas.
