Fall Bulb Shipping Schedule — What to Expect & When to Plant

We source our flower bulbs directly from Holland — some of the finest growing regions in the world — and ship them to your door at exactly the right time for fall planting. Here's everything you need to know about our shipping schedule and how to make the most of your bulbs when they arrive.

Shipping Schedule

All bulb orders ship exclusively within the United States. Our Holland bulbs arrive stateside by mid-September, and we begin shipping to customers in early October.

• Flower bulbs (tulips, daffodils, hyacinths, alliums, etc.): Ship October through early January, or while supplies last
• Amaryllis bulbs: Ship late October through February, or while supplies last
• You will receive a tracking number by email once your order ships

Shipping Regions

We ship to all 48 contiguous U.S. states. Delivery timing may vary by region.

East States: AL, CT, DC, DE, FL, GA, IL, IN, KY, MA, MD, ME, MI, MS, NC, NH, NJ, NY, OH, PA, RI, SC, TN, VA, VT, WI, WV

West States: AR, AZ, CA, CO, IA, ID, KS, LA, MN, MO, MT, ND, NE, NM, NV, OK, OR, SD, TX, UT, WA, WY

When to Plant Your Bulbs

Fall bulbs — including tulips, daffodils, iris, lilies, grape hyacinths, and alliums — should be planted as soon as the ground begins to cool. The ideal window is when evening temperatures consistently average between 40°–50°F, typically 6–8 weeks before the ground freezes.

This naturally occurs in fall in cold-climate zones (USDA Zones 1–7). Gardeners in warmer zones (8+) may need to pre-chill bulbs in the refrigerator for 8–12 weeks before planting.

Tips for Planting Success

• Plant bulbs as soon as possible after they arrive for best results
• Choose a well-draining location — bulbs sitting in waterlogged soil will rot
• Plant with the pointed end facing up at a depth of 2–3 times the bulb's height
• Water thoroughly after planting to settle the soil
• In warmer climates, a layer of mulch helps insulate the soil during winter
