Originally found in the 1926 catalog of Peter Henderson and Company, this variety was believed to be extinct until it was rediscovered in a garden near Macon, Missouri by Merle Van Doren. The fruits and foliage display a vibrant green color with yellow spots, while the fruits themselves often feature a larger "moon" marking. While it may seem like a novelty, this watermelon also boasts a delicious flavor with its sweet pink flesh. Each fruit can weigh between 15-20 pounds and the plant takes approximately 95-100 days to mature.
