A very hot smaller Chocolate habanero type that has a short little stubby tail or stinger. Has kind of a nutty flavor and plants produce well. Pods mature from green to dark brown. If you like growing the chocolate habanero you will like this one. It has plenty of Heat !

An interesting PEPPER, notable for its dark stained foliage and solid black fruits. Bears small, 1" conical pods that are larger than most Pequin varieties. Pods start out deep black and ripen slowly to red. A highly attractive variety for ornamental purposes as well, owing to its pretty fruits, leaves and stems.
This is a compact growing plant that works well as a potted edible. Itâs a very attractive specimen, especially when adorned with its tiny jet black or dark purple fruits that change to a brilliant red color as they ripen. When grow in pots, the big advantage in the fall, potted plants can easily be moved indoors before frost to extend the harvest or to over winter them!
They are extremely productive with fruit spread all over the branches of the plant. The peppers also hold well both before and after they ripen which means that you can always have fresh peppers on hand when you need them in the kitchen,.
This is without a doubt a very hot and spicy pepper, but it also has a nice flavor to lend to your favorite recipes. The small fruit size is a plus for me because a whole Pepper is just about right for kitchen recipes without being overpowering or adding too much heat in comparison to cooking with larger jalapeños or habaneras.
Growing Peppers:
Peppers, like tomatoes, grow in well-drained fertile soil
Almost all peppers have the same requirements for successful growth. Plant them in good, well-drained, fertile soil â and make sure they get lots of sunlight and a good inch of water per week. In many ways, they mimic the same requirements needed for growing great tomatoes.
At Planting Time:
We plant all of our peppers with a good shovel full of compost in the planting hole, and then give them a good dose of compost tea every few weeks for the first 6 weeks of growth. We also mulch around each of our pepper plants with a good 1 to 2â³ thick layer of compost.
All pepper varieties are Heirloom and/or OP(Open Pollinated.) and Organically Grown
Peppers often like to take their sweet time germinating. They can be up in a week, and some will take almost a month. Even with paper towel germination testing, they can take long. I am not sure why, but it is a normal occurrence. So plan and make sure you start them early enough! Also, remember they like heat to germinate so make sure you have a heating mat or something to keep the soil warm. Placing them up on top of the fridge often works too since it is normally warmer up there.
Peppers do very well grown in pots.
