Campanula medium Single Blue
Campanula, Canterbury Bell
This popular and most beautiful biennial was introduced to this country from southern Spain in 1596. Splendid for cutting, the flowers last well in water. Try a few in pots in the cold greenhouse where the beauty of the flowers can be appreciated to the full. Sown under glass in March and planted out in April, they will flower the same year, and if then cut down in autumn, will flower again the following year.
This is your classical, archetypal, original Canterbury Bell. With their strong spikes of large blue flowers, they are surely everyone's idea of the ideal cottage garden flower. 2½-3½ ft.
How to Plant CAMPANULA Seeds
Rapidly germinating, keep seed in constant moisture (not wet) with temperatures of about +20°C [68°F]. Seeds must be covered thinly. Do not cover very small seeds, but tightly press into the earth. Keep in cooler conditions after germination occurs.
