Tulipa `Purple Circus` - A Fringed Tulip with Shades of Purple, Red, Pink, and White
Introducing Tulipa `Purple Circus`, a stunning fringed tulip that will add a burst of color to your garden. With its unique shades of purple, purplish red, pink, and white, every flower is a work of art. This tulip is perfect for outdoor beds, and can also be planted in containers for a beautiful display on your patio or balcony.
Outdoor Beds
For best results, select a well-drained location and amend the soil with organic material to improve drainage. Plant in full sun to light shade and enjoy the return of these tulips in subsequent springs. (Note: This may not be possible in warmer climates such as zone 9.) Plant the bulbs 5' apart and 6' to 7' deep, with the pointy end facing up. Water well after planting and continue to water as needed during active growth periods.
When in bloom, feel free to cut these tulips for striking bouquets. After blooming, leave the foliage in place to gather sunlight and strengthen the bulbs for the future. By early summer, the leaves will yellow and die back, at which point they can be removed. Your bulbs will rest until next spring when they will begin the next growing cycle.
Containers
Tulipa `Purple Circus` also thrives in containers, making it a versatile addition to any garden. Plant in pots, barrels, tubs, or urns in the fall, using good quality, well-drained soil. Keep in mind that these tulips need full sun to light shade and a period of winter cooling to return in subsequent springs. (Note: This may not be possible in warmer climates such as zone 9.) Plant the bulbs 4' apart and 6' to 7' deep, with the pointy end facing up. Water well after planting and continue to water as needed during active growth periods.
