A large plant with dense clusters of sword-like, yellowish-green leaves and bearing huge, dramatic, broad heads of golden flowers. 3-4 ft.
"Wickedly intriguing" are the words one of our suppliers has used to describe the following most unusual plants, quite unlike any other members of the family Umbelliferae. With their large and handsome tussocks of mediaeval weaponry (and when we say spear-like etc., we don't just mean the shape - they are, so we are told, capable of inflicting a painful wound "on the unwary") and noble spikes of flowers, they should make a handsome and interesting addition to the border. As we say, quite unlike Cow Parsley.

SOWING ADVICE: SOW SEEDS IMMEDIATELY YOU RECEIVE THEM, AT ANY TIME OF THE YEAR, THEY DEPEND ON HAVING SEVERAL MONTHS, SOMETIMES UP TO A YEAR IN COLD, DAMP COMPOST, (NOT DRY IN A FRIDGE) BEFORE THEY WILL GERMINATE. KEEP THE SEED TRAY MOIST IN A COLD GREENHOUSE OR SHADY CORNER AND DO NOT DISCARD. THESE FRESH SEEDS CAN BE VERY SLOW TO GERMINATE BUT DO NOT USE ANY ARTIFICIAL HEAT IN AN ATTEMPT TO GERMINATE THEM AS IT MAY SIMPLY DISRUPT THEIR GERMINATION MECHANISM CAUSING THEM TO ENTER EVEN DEEPER DORMANCY.
