Planting Guide

Planting: Plant in any well-drained soil. Dig a hole large enough to accommodate the roots without bending or circling. Set the crown (where root meets stem) 1–2 inches below the soil surface. Backfill and water thoroughly.

Watering: Water immediately after planting. Daylilies prefer a deep watering once per week rather than daily light watering. Do not allow to dry out, but avoid waterlogged conditions.

Seasonal care: Weed regularly around plants. Remove dead blooms and leaves for a manicured appearance. In late fall, trim dead foliage to ground level and apply mulch to protect roots from winter cold. In colder climates, spring planting is preferred — fall planting may not allow enough time to establish roots before hard freezes.
