Planting Guide

Planting: Plant in any well-drained soil. Dig a hole large enough to accommodate the roots without bending or circling. Set the crown 1–2 inches below the soil surface. Backfill and water thoroughly. Water immediately after planting.

Watering: Prefer deep watering once per week over light daily watering. Keep from drying out completely; avoid waterlogged conditions.

Maintenance: Weed regularly around plants to prevent root competition. Remove spent blooms and dead foliage for a tidy appearance. In late fall, cut foliage to ground level and mulch the root zone against hard freezes.

Regional planting: In colder climates, spring planting is recommended. In the South, plant in early spring or very late fall; avoid planting July–September during periods of high heat and humidity (above 90°F).
