55 days to maturity after transplanting. Ligularia fischeri. Gom Chwi (Fischer’s Ragwort) Seeds. Mild temperature perennial. This seasonal vegetable from Korea has beautiful heart-shaped leaves with serrated edges.
They can be eaten in many different ways; pickle, sauté, or use as a wrap like lettuce! Leaves will grow from between 12 to 20 inches in size, but you can harvest them earlier if desired. Despite being called Fischer’s Ragwort, it’s not very closely related to common ragwort. Try gom chwi today if you’re looking for a delicious green to add to your garden.
In Korean cuisine, gom chwi along with other season vegetable varieties are often used as the main ingredient of herbal side dishes called namul. Gom chwi can be eaten pickled as jangajji and kimchi or eaten fresh as a ssam (wrap) vegetable.

Planting season: Year round Gom Chwi is a highly prized seasonal vegetable of Korea. The leaves are green, heart shaped with serrated margins. Leaf size can range from 12-30” and can be harvested at any size. In mild climate Gom Chwi can grow year round with multiple harvestings, up to 8 per year. Its first harvest approximately 55 days after transplant. Late summer vertical spikes of yellow aster-like flowers bloom.
Prefers loamy, moist soil, sun and partial shade conditions. Sow seeds in spring. Keep soil moist. Germination at 50°F under shade.
