Growing Instructions:
Veratrum album seeds require cold stratification for germination. Sow seeds in fall for natural outdoor stratification, or stratify in refrigerator for 60-90 days before spring sowing. Plant seeds 1/4 inch deep in rich, moist, well-draining soil high in organic matter. Germination is slow and may take several months. Prefers partial to full shade with consistently moist soil. Space plants 24-36 inches apart. Plants are slow to establish but long-lived once mature, often taking 3-5 years to reach flowering size.
