White Spring Flowers with Golden Centers

White Splendour Grecian windflower (Anemone blanda 'White Splendour') produces white, daisy-like flowers with golden-yellow centers above finely divided foliage. Growing approximately 4–8 inches tall, it brings a low layer of spring color to border edges, rock gardens, and suitable areas beneath deciduous shrubs and trees.

Plant small groups alongside daffodils or tulips to create a soft white foreground. Choose a spot that receives seasonal sunlight before nearby trees leaf out so the flowers and foliage can make the most of spring.

What You Are Ordering

  • Product: Tuberous anemone planting stock, commonly sold as bulbs; not seeds or flowering potted plants.
  • Variety: White Splendour.
  • Botanical name: Anemone blanda 'White Splendour'.
  • Pack options: Choose 10, 30, or 100 tubers. The size selector labels these packs as bulbs.
  • Stock grading: 6/7 cm, a planting-stock size measurement rather than flower diameter.
  • Flower color: White with golden-yellow centers.
  • Bloom season: Spring; exact timing varies with climate and weather.
  • Typical height: Approximately 4–8 inches.

Fall Planting

Choose full sun to partial shade and well-drained soil. Plant in fall for spring flowers where local growing conditions are suitable. Winter performance varies by climate; this is not a claim of suitability for every hardiness zone.

  • Soak the dry tubers in lukewarm water for a few hours before planting, following any specific instructions supplied with your stock.
  • Plant approximately 2.5–3 inches deep and 4–5 inches apart.
  • Arrange in loose clusters for a natural-looking display.
  • Water after planting, then keep soil moderately moist during active growth without allowing waterlogging.
  • Use containers with drainage holes and provide winter protection appropriate to your location.

After Flowering and Naturalizing

Leave foliage intact until it yellows and dies back naturally. Mark the planting area so dormant tubers are not accidentally disturbed. If growing in a lawn, delay mowing until the leaves have finished.

Established plantings may gradually spread where conditions are suitable. The rate of multiplication and repeat flowering depends on climate, drainage, and care rather than being guaranteed. Divide established clumps during dormancy when needed.

Ornamental Use Only

Do not eat tubers or other plant parts. Anemones can be harmful if ingested, and sap may irritate skin. Wear gloves if sensitive and keep plants and planting stock away from children and pets.
