A Colorful Finish to Your Spring Bulb Display

Crystal Beauty fringed tulips bring vivid red and golden-yellow color to the late-spring garden. Their finely fringed petal edges add texture that rewards a closer look, whether planted beside a path, grouped in a sunny border, or enjoyed in a patio container.

Plant a cluster in fall and look forward to a striking spring display. Reserve a few blooms for indoor arrangements to enjoy their intricate edges up close.

What You Are Ordering

  • Product: Tulip bulbs for planting, not seeds or flowering potted plants.
  • Variety: Tulipa 'Crystal Beauty'.
  • Type: Fringed tulip, also called Crispa.
  • Pack options: Choose 10, 25, or 100 bulbs from the available sizes.
  • Bloom color: Red and golden yellow.
  • Bloom season: Late spring; timing varies with local weather.

Where to Grow

Use in beds, borders, cutting gardens, or containers with drainage holes. Choose full sun to light shade and soil that drains freely. The listed growing range is USDA zones 3–8; local winter conditions and drainage affect performance.

Fall Planting Instructions

  1. Choose a site that does not hold standing water after rain.
  2. Plant bulbs in fall with the pointed ends facing upward, approximately 6–7 inches deep.
  3. Space bulbs about 5 inches apart in the garden, or around 4 inches apart in containers.
  4. Water thoroughly after planting to settle the soil. Avoid keeping bulbs in persistently soggy conditions.

Care After Flowering

Remove spent flowers, but leave the foliage in place until it yellows and dies back naturally. Green leaves help replenish the bulb after flowering. Repeat flowering varies with growing conditions, and a strong first-season display does not guarantee the same performance every year.

Garden and Household Safety

Tulips are not deer-resistant. Protect emerging growth and flowers where deer or other browsing wildlife are a concern.

Ornamental use only: Do not eat tulip bulbs or plant parts. Keep bulbs away from children and pets; tulips are toxic to cats and dogs if ingested.
