(Leontopodium Alpinum) This winter hardy beauty is a superb perennial that produces beautiful cream colored starshaped flower

Grow these famous Swiss Alps wildflowers from Edelweiss seeds! Perfect for rock gardens, ground cover, or alpine troughs, Leontopodium Alpinum are low-growing with silvery grey foliage and clusters of white wooly flowers in early summer.

The Edelweiss flower is good for cutting, and it can be used in fresh or dried arrangements. Europeans historically have used the Edelweiss herb as a tea to treat diarrhea and dysentery. Edelweiss herb plants are also used widely as a cosmetic cream to aid healing and control facial wrinkles.
How To Grow Edelweiss From Seed:

These are very tiny seeds which should be mixed with finest sand or talcum for an even sowing. Do not cover with compost, only press them in gently. Irrigate from the bottom or with a hand-sprayer, so that the seeds will not be washed away.
It is recommended to sow Edelweiss ground cover seeds indoors 4 - 6 weeks before last frost and transplant outdoors when temperatures have warmed. Edelweiss herb seeds are very small, so do not cover them. Just gently press seeds into the soil in the starter tray. Water from underneath the tray. Transplant the Edelweiss ground cover in a mostly sunny area and in soil that has excellent drainage. Rock gardens, raised beds, or even containers are ideal environments for Edelweiss

Rapidly germinating, keep seed in constant moisture (not wet) with temperatures of about +20°C [68°F]. Seeds must be covered thinly. Do not cover very small seeds, but tightly press into the earth. Keep in cooler conditions after germination occurs.
