What You Receive

• Quantity: 5 live starter plants
• Variety: Imperial broccoli
• Crop type: Cool-season vegetable
• Light: Full sun
• Best uses: Garden beds, raised beds, and large containers

Transplanting

Unpack the plants promptly and check the soil moisture. Give them time to recover from shipping in a sheltered location. Before planting outdoors, gradually introduce them to direct sun, wind, and outdoor temperatures over several days. Transplant into fertile, well-drained soil after preparing the planting area.

Growing Care

Space plants approximately 18 to 24 inches apart to allow room for foliage and airflow. Keep the soil evenly moist, especially during establishment and head development, but avoid waterlogged conditions. Mulch can help moderate soil moisture and reduce weed competition. Feed according to soil conditions and the directions on a fertilizer labeled for vegetables.

Harvest

Harvest the central head when it is firm and the buds remain tight, before yellow flowers open. Cut the head with a clean knife while leaving lower leaves and side shoots in place. Development time varies with temperature, plant condition, and local growing conditions.

Live plants naturally vary in height, leaf count, and appearance. Temporary wilting or minor leaf damage can occur during shipping.
