A Pearl-Blue Welcome to Spring

Brighten the late-winter garden with Crocus chrysanthus 'Blue Pearl'. These petite snow crocuses open in soft, pale blue tones with warm golden throats, bringing delicate color to borders, rock gardens, and containers. Plant in small clusters beside a path or in loose drifts where you can enjoy the first flowers of the season.

What You Are Ordering

  • Product: Crocus corms, commonly sold as bulbs, for planting. Not seeds or potted plants.
  • Variety: Crocus chrysanthus 'Blue Pearl'.
  • Pack options: Choose 10, 25, or 100 bulbs.
  • Corm size: 5/6 cm.
  • Planting season: Fall.

Garden Highlights

  • Flower color: Pale ice-blue to pearl-blue petals with a golden-yellow throat.
  • Bloom season: Late winter to early spring; timing varies with climate and weather.
  • Height: Approximately 4 inches.
  • Hardiness: USDA zones 3–8.
  • Light: Full sun to light shade.
  • Best uses: Border edges, rockeries, containers, and naturalized lawn plantings.

How to Plant

Plant in fall in gritty, well-drained soil. Set corms pointed end upward, approximately 3–4 inches deep. Arrange them in clusters for a concentrated splash of color or scatter them before planting for an informal drift. Use containers with drainage holes and avoid locations where water collects.

Care for Returning Displays

Keep the planting area well drained, especially during wet weather. Apply a suitable low-nitrogen bulb fertilizer according to label directions as spring growth emerges. Leave healthy foliage in place until it yellows and dies back naturally so the corms can replenish their reserves.

For lawn plantings, delay mowing until the foliage has fully died back. Leave established clumps undisturbed where possible. With suitable growing conditions, Blue Pearl can return and gradually form a fuller display over time.

Plan Your Planting

Use a 10-bulb pack for a small accent, 25 bulbs for repeated clusters, or 100 bulbs for a larger drift. These are ornamental crocuses, not a source of culinary saffron; do not eat the corms or flowers.
