How to Plant Caladium Bulbs

Plant tubers flat side down, eyes facing up, 1–1½ inches deep in 4” pots or larger. Wait until soil temperature reaches 65°F before planting outdoors. For a head start, pre-sprout indoors 4–6 weeks before moving outside — keep warm at 70–75°F day and night in barely moist growing mix. For de-eyed container plantings, removing the primary bud increases leaf count and uniformity.
