Crocus vernus 'Striped Beauty' (also known as 'King of the Striped') is a luxurious, large-flowering Dutch Crocus with a garden pedigree stretching back to the 1880s. Each bloom is a stunning combination of white petals delicately and boldly striped with purple, with vivid orange-yellow centers that make a dramatic statement against the late-winter ground. Sometimes blooming even among the last snowflakes, this heirloom variety is one of the earliest and most striking Dutch Crocus available. A great naturalizer if left undisturbed, Striped Beauty multiplies into breathtaking drifts that grow more impressive with every passing year.

Planting & Care

Plant corms pointed tip up in well-drained soil in fall. For the best naturalized effect, scatter corms loosely before planting to create organic-looking drifts. If naturalizing in lawn, avoid mowing until foliage has fully yellowed in late spring. Leave undisturbed for several years for the most spectacular naturalized display.
