Plant Uses:
Cottage/Informal Garden, Flowers Borders and Beds, Rock Garden or Wildflower Gardens. Suitable for rock garden, raised bed or naturalizing in grass .The Fritillaria family has some of the worlds most gorgeous looking flowering plants and FRITILLARIA collina is no exception. Vibrant chrome yellow bells with short stems and attractive greyish foliage. Easy to grow in standard 'frit' conditions of fertile, well-drained, and sunny areas, with moderate moisture in summer.
Sowing: Plant from March-September or October-February. Seeds require cold to grow, they can be left outside or stratified for faster germination.
Sowing March to September.
Use stratification for faster germination. Refrigerate seed containers in plastic bags for 2-3 weeks. 
AftPlace containers outside in cold frame or in shady area of garden. Cover with glass or plastic. Some seeds may germinate in spring/summer and should be transplanted when large enough. Others may remain dormant until next spring. Germination is irregular, can take months. Transplant each seed once germinated into its own pot.
Sowing October to February.
Sow the seeds and cover with compost. Place seed container outside and protect from mice until spring. Keep compost moist and provide shelter from excessive rain. In spring, bring indoors to trigger germination. If no germination, keep seeds in cool moist conditions during summer. 
Transplant seedlings into 7.5cm pots or trays to grow on, then plant in well-drained soil come spring. Allow 10-15 days of outdoor acclimatization before planting.
Cultivation:
Grow well in fertile, humus-rich, well-drained soils. Divide offsets or sow bulbils in late summer. Handle and plant bulbs carefully.
