After Arrival
Unpack the plants promptly and check the soil moisture. Let them recover in a bright, sheltered location before transplanting. Gradually introduce them to outdoor conditions over several days. Temporary wilting or minor leaf damage can occur during shipping.
Planting and Care
Transplant gently into fertile, well-drained soil or a container with drainage holes. Keep the soil evenly moist without leaving the roots waterlogged. Culantro generally benefits from protection against intense afternoon sun, especially in hot conditions.
Water needs vary with temperature, light, wind, and container size. Apply a balanced fertilizer during active growth according to its label. Remove flower stalks if your goal is continued leaf production. Protect plants from frost and move containers to a suitable sheltered location when cold weather approaches.
Harvest
For repeat harvests, cut mature outer leaves near the base while leaving the center growth intact. Rinse leaves before culinary use. Fresh leaves may be chopped into seasoning blends or added to cooked dishes and garnishes according to preference.
