SIZE: 3 PLANTS

Campari Tomato Live Plants

Grow sweet, juicy red tomatoes for fresh salads, sandwiches and summer cooking. Campari produces round fruit approximately the size of a golf ball, offering a convenient size between cherry tomatoes and larger slicing types.

This listing is for live tomato plants, not seeds. Choose from the available 3-, 10- or 25-plant options.

Plant highlights

  • Round, deep-red fruit with a sweet, juicy flavor
  • Indeterminate growth: plants continue growing and producing through the season under suitable conditions
  • Warm-season crop for sunny gardens
  • Requires a sturdy cage, stake or trellis

Planting your live plants

Unpack promptly and check soil moisture. Gradually acclimate plants to outdoor sun and wind before planting. Transplant after frost danger has passed and the soil has warmed, choosing a full-sun location with fertile, well-drained soil.

Plant deeply, burying part of the stem after removing leaves that would sit below the soil line. Leave enough space for mature plants and good airflow, and install supports at planting time.

Growing and care

Water thoroughly after transplanting and maintain consistent soil moisture without waterlogging. Water at the base rather than over the foliage. Apply mulch to help conserve moisture, keeping it away from the stem. Feed according to the directions on a fertilizer suitable for tomatoes, and tie growing stems loosely to their supports.

Harvest and kitchen uses

Harvest when fruit is fully red and ripe. Enjoy fresh in salads, sandwiches and snacks, or use in pasta, pizza toppings and salsa. Pair with basil and garlic for bruschetta.

Allow unripe fruit to finish ripening at room temperature. Refrigerate ripe tomatoes when needed to extend storage, and bring them back to room temperature before serving for fuller flavor.
