  • Eversweet strawberry roots, not seeds.
  • Choose the 10-root or 25-root option.

Growing Details

  • Harvest season: Everbearing, with fruit production possible from spring through fall depending on climate and growing conditions.
  • Sunlight: Full sun, at least 6 hours daily.
  • Soil: Loose, well-drained soil enriched with compost.
  • Moisture: Keep soil evenly moist, without waterlogging.
  • Spacing: Approximately 12 inches between plants.
  • Winter hardiness: USDA zones 3–7, as listed in the existing growing information.

Planting Your Strawberry Roots

Keep roots cool and moist until planting; do not let them dry out. Prepare the bed with compost, spread the roots into the planting hole, and position the crown at soil level. Cover the roots without burying the crown, then water thoroughly. Use containers with drainage holes if growing in pots.

Seasonal Care

Water at soil level and keep the planting area free of weeds. Removing early flowers can help newly planted roots direct energy toward establishment, though it delays the first harvest. Feed at transplanting and again in spring according to the fertilizer label.

Apply straw mulch for winter protection where needed, and pull it back in spring as growth resumes. Harvest berries when fully colored and ripe. Fruiting times and yields vary with weather, plant establishment, and care.
