Garden Wonder is an amazing Decorative Dahlia variety which produces large vibrant red flowers. Flowering throughout the summer months they will create a fantastic display planted in a garden border or in patio pots and containers. The long lasting flowers make excellent cut flowers for the vase or bouquets. Height 100cm and spread 50cm. Flowers June to September. Top grade dahlia tubers supplied.
Decorative Dahlias have layer upon layer of fully double flat florets which are broad and blunt-ended. Expect blooms up to 10 in - 25 cm in diameter. Originating from Mexico and Guatemala, these were the flowers of Inca kings and despite their royal origins Dahlias are amongst the easiest plants to grow in the garden.
They are a wonderful source of cut flowers and will provide a veritable cornucopia of colourful blooms for your bouquets from mid summer until the first frost. Hardy as they are, Dahlias are susceptible to cold so be careful not to plant them too early and be sure to dig them up after the first frost and store them in a frost-free place.

Growing at a glance…
Dahlia tubers can be planted outdoors, 10cm deep in fertile well-drained soil in spring when the frost has disappeared. They prefer to be in a sunny location and spaced at approximately 45cm apart. In areas where there is extreme cold, dig up dahlias and store in potting compost over the winter. Apply a high potash fertiliser every few weeks in the summer to help growth. Dead head when necessary.
