'Mandarin' Honeysuckle Vines feature stunning orange-pink flowers with yellow throats, guaranteed to attract delicate hummingbirds to your garden. Starting as copper-purple, the leaves transition to a vibrant green. These prolific blooms last from summer to fall, adding color when most of the garden is winding down. As a strong climber, expect it to reach heights of up to 20 feet and provide support for twisting and twining. This sterile, non-invasive plant won't spread through reseeding.
-
It is deciduous, unlike our native L. sempervirens. It is a typical twining honeysuckle which will put on its best show when grown in full sun. It is quite vigorous, easily growing 5-6' in a growing season, which makes it ideal for covering arbors and trellises. Its initial new foliage in the spring is an attractive bronze-purple.
Zones 4-9
Cultivate in typical, well-drained earth. Deeply water and maintain regularity during initial growing period to establish an extensive root network; decrease frequency once established. Apply a general purpose fertilizer. Offer support, such as a trellis or arbor.
