Lipstick Plant Starter Plants for Hanging Baskets

Trailing Lipstick Plant Starter Plants

Bring glossy foliage and cascading growth to a bright indoor space with a lipstick plant starter. Lipstick plants are tropical epiphytes known for trailing stems and tubular flowers that emerge from darker calyxes as mature plants grow under suitable conditions.

Plant Details

• Plant type: Tropical trailing houseplant
• Light: Bright, indirect light
• Growth habit: Cascading; well suited to hanging baskets and elevated planters
• Soil: Loose, airy, and well drained
• Temperature: Warm, frost-free indoor conditions

Care Guide

Place the plant near a bright window while protecting it from harsh midday sun. Water thoroughly, then let the upper layer of the potting mix dry slightly before watering again. Do not leave the container standing in water. Moderate household humidity can work, though the plant may appreciate extra humidity in very dry rooms.

Potting and Growth

Use a container with drainage holes and an airy houseplant mix. Pinch or trim long stems as needed to encourage fuller growth. Feed lightly during active growth according to the directions on a balanced houseplant fertilizer.

Choose 1, 3, or 10 starter plants. Starter plants are young and may not be flowering when shipped. Size, branching, and leaf count naturally vary.
