Care Guide

Light: Full sun; place near the sunniest window available indoors, or on a sunny patio outdoors during warm months.

Soil: Well-draining potting mix — a cactus and succulent blend is ideal. Good drainage is non-negotiable; standing water will cause root rot.

Watering: Allow the soil to dry out completely between waterings. This plant is drought-tolerant and far more likely to be harmed by overwatering than underwatering.

Fertilizing: Feed once per month with a cactus fertilizer or half-strength houseplant fertilizer from spring through late summer. Do not fertilize in fall and winter.

Outdoor/indoor cycle: Move containers outside to a sunny patio for summer; bring back indoors before the first frost. In Zones 4–9, established garden plants are winter-hardy.
