What you receive

One cart quantity purchases one pack of 2 live 7 Pot Jonah pepper plants. Plants are intended for growing on and are not guaranteed to arrive flowering or carrying fruit. Plant size and appearance vary with stage of growth; no pot size or plant height is specified in this listing.

Unpacking and settling in

Unpack promptly. Check moisture around the roots and water gently if needed, allowing excess water to drain. Place in a sheltered, bright location while plants settle after shipping. Gradually introduce stronger sunlight, wind, and outdoor conditions over several days rather than moving directly into hot afternoon sun.

Transplanting outdoors

Plant outdoors after frost danger has passed and the soil and nights are reliably warm. Choose full sun and fertile, well-drained soil. Space plants approximately 24–36 inches apart so mature growth has room and airflow.

Set each plant at about the same depth as its existing root ball, firm gently, and water thoroughly. Add a stake or cage while plants are young to support later growth without disturbing established roots. Protect from cold, strong wind, and extreme heat during establishment.

Container care

Use a roomy container with drainage holes for each plant; a pot of at least approximately 5 gallons is a useful starting point, with more root space beneficial for a long growing season. Fill with well-drained potting mix. Check moisture frequently, particularly in hot weather, and do not leave pots standing in water.

Watering and feeding

Maintain consistent moisture without saturating the roots. Water at soil level where practical. Feed according to a vegetable or pepper fertilizer label, avoiding excessive nitrogen that can favor leafy growth over fruiting. Mulch established garden plants to reduce moisture swings, keeping mulch away from stems.

Flowering and harvesting

Allow a long warm season for growth, flowering, and fruit development. Temperature extremes can reduce flower retention and fruit set. Harvest timing and yield vary with climate, plant condition, and care; this listing does not promise a fixed harvest date or crop size.

Cut mature peppers from the plant with clean scissors or pruners rather than pulling on the branches. Handle the crop cautiously and keep harvested peppers clearly labeled and separate from mild varieties.

Superhot pepper safety

7 Pot Jonah is a superhot pepper. Handle fruit with care. Wear gloves when cutting or processing, avoid touching your face and eyes, and clean tools and work surfaces afterward. Keep peppers and prepared products away from children and pets. Avoid inhaling dust or fumes during drying, grinding, or cooking; work with good ventilation. Use very small amounts in food and do not use for eating challenges.

End-of-season care

Peppers are frost-sensitive. In cold climates they are usually grown seasonally, or healthy container plants can be moved to a suitable protected growing space before cold weather. Indoor survival and future harvests depend on light, warmth, pest management, and ongoing care.
