Care on arrival
Unpack promptly and check the root-zone moisture. Water gently if the growing medium feels dry, allowing excess water to drain. Place plants in a sheltered spot with bright, indirect light while they recover from transit, then gradually introduce them to their intended growing conditions.
Planting
Plant outdoors after the risk of frost has passed. Set each plant at the same depth it was previously growing, keeping the crown above the soil rather than burying it. Allow room for its approximately 20-inch mature spread and good air circulation.
For containers, choose a planter with drainage holes and enough room for growth. Use a free-draining potting mix and water thoroughly after planting.
Watering and ongoing care
Keep the root zone moderately and consistently moist without leaving it waterlogged. Check containers regularly in warm weather, as they can dry faster than garden soil. Water at soil level when practical and avoid letting pots stand in water.
Feed during active growth with a balanced flowering-plant fertilizer according to its label. Remove damaged foliage and faded blooms as needed to keep the display tidy. Protect plants from frost; treat them as seasonal bedding plants where winters are cold.
Design ideas
Group several plants for a broad sweep of white flowers, or use one as the centerpiece of a patio pot. The green foliage and white blooms pair easily with colorful bedding plants and brighten partly shaded corners.
Pet safety: Begonias can be toxic if eaten by cats or dogs. Keep plants out of reach of pets. For ornamental use only.
