, Eryngium variifolium Marble-leaf Sea Holly
Sea Hollies are loved by flower arrangers, the fresh or dried flowers are both excellent for cutting. This unusual species has gorgeous green foliage marbled with white veins, remaining evergreen in mild winter regions. Flowers are in branching heads, white with spiny blue bracts. Compact enough to include in the rock garden, in the sunny border or in containers. Plants are very tolerant of hot, dry sites once established. Most Sea Hollies will also tolerate salt spray and harsh conditions.
