Snowdrop SEEDS, Galanthus nivalis, Perennial Flowers
This is one of those plants that just don't need picture or description in a seed catalogue; let's face it, after the festivities of Christmas, the one thing we all look forward to is the appearance of the first Snowdrops.
Sow into an open cold frame in autumn. Sow seed thinly onto moist, well-drained seed compost. Just cover seed with a sprinkling of soil and add 10mm of fine grit. Place in an open frame or a sheltered spot in the garden. Allow natural winter cold to offer ideal conditions for germination to occur in late winter as the weather warms. Allow to grow on in the pot. Do not allow to dry out, even when leaves die back. Repot or liquid feed as desired. Plant out after 4 years approx.
