Statice (Limonium Sinuatum Apricot Beauty) - Growing Statice seeds can be very rewarding! This annual is a very useful plant both for the color display it brings during summer to the garden and for being an excellent cut flower. It reaches a height of nearly 32 inches and has a spread of about 12 inches. This variety produces flowers that are shades of apricot. Very lovely, and quite an addition for the cut flower arrangement.
Limonium Statice is a flower that can be dried. Statice flowers are considered to be everlasting and will retain their lovely colors for years. Statice is often used in dried floral arrangements and crafts.
How To Grow Statice From Seed: Sow Statice seeds indoors 6 - 8 weeks before frost season ends. Press the Limonium seeds into the soil and lightly sprinkle with peat moss. The flower seeds must be kept moist but not wet until germination occurs. Or, you can directly sow Statice flower seeds into prepared seed beds after all danger of frost has passed. Sow the seeds in groups of 3 - 4 spaced 16 - 20 inches apart. Thin to the strongest plant. Once established, Statice plants are fairly drought tolerant. They thrive in a hot, sunny location.
