Detailed planting instructions:
For optimal growth, provide sufficient light for your tomato seeds - a sunny, south-facing window may not be enough, consider using a grow light.
To successfully grow beefsteak tomatoes, plant seeds indoors in sterile seed starting mix 6 to 8 weeks before transplanting outside. Keep seeds at 75 F to 90 F for optimal germination, and grow transplants at approximately 70 F. Be cautious when transplanting, as cold temperatures can cause stress to the plants. Wait a week or two after the last frost, and ensure nighttime temperatures are above 45 F. Consider using black plastic mulch or other protective measures to keep plants warm during the early growing season.
