Used for pickles, cooking, salads, & grated, with or without ginger and soy sauce, as a condiment. Johnny's was among the first American seed companies to carry the long, white Asian radish (called Daikon in Japan).
This giant white radish grows up to 2 feet long. White and crisp, with a mild sweet flavor, this Japanese radish is both unusual and delicious. Ready to harvest in as few as 45 days, these roots can be stored for weeks.
Delicious raw, pickled, or in stir fries, this crisp, mild flavored, 14-16 inches long Japanese daikon radish is a fall favorite, tops and all. Sow in late summer for fall harvest, as it will bolt to seed if planted in the spring. The roots keep up to four months in the root cellar or cool basement.
