Mastic Thyme, also called Spanish Wood Marjoram, is a special and indigenous herb from the Iberian Peninsula and Central Spain and Portugal. It has many other common names, including White Thyme, Wild Marjoram, and Spanish Marjoram.
Mastic Thyme is a perennial herb favored for its essential oils and culinary uses such as seasoning and preserving olives in Andalucía, with a distinct scent and calming properties.

Tiny whitish flowers open from dusty pink buds, they grow in small clusters that appear during the summer months of July and August. The fragrant flowers are highly attractive to bees and other beneficial pollinating insects. The plants grow 30 to 40cm (12 to 16in) height and 60cm (24in) in width.
