Red Burgundy Onions grow in fertile and well-drained soil. They love good drainage due to the fact that onions can be prone to mildew and rot. Allium cepa 'Red Burgundy' requires full sun and comes to maturity in 170 days. They grow into flattened bulbs that have a 3-4" diameter. The tops of these onions can be thinned and used as green onions. Short-day onions that grow best in zones 8-9.
