The Rarest Cucumber You’ll Ever Taste
Once nearly extinct in the United States, Crystal Apple Cucumber is a rare heirloom treasure originally from China and reintroduced from Australia around 1930. Its small, round to apple-shaped fruits glow with a luminous creamy-white skin that’s so tender, there’s no need to peel. Beneath it: sweet, mild, exceptionally crisp flesh with almost no bitterness. A unique offering for market growers and a showpiece in any home garden.

Growing Guide
- Soil: Loose, compost-rich, well-draining raised bed
- Sow depth: ⅔" deep; 20" apart in rows 3 ft apart, or in 8" mounds spaced 6 ft apart
- Watering: Deeply, 3× per week; more if leaves wilt in midday heat
- Fertilize: With balanced 10-10-10 organic fertilizer monthly during the growing season
- Trellis: Train on a trellis or chain-link fence — fruits grow straighter, cleaner, and more ornamental when off the ground
- Harvest: At 3–5" for best flavor and ongoing production
