Eucomis comosa 'Envy' is a bold, dark-leaved pineapple lily that brings dramatic tropical presence to beds, borders, and containers. Like its close relative 'Coco,' 'Envy' emerges with striking dark maroon foliage in spring, maturing to deep bronze-green through the season, before large rose-pink flower spikes rise in late summer — each crowned with its signature pineapple-like rosette. Mature plants reach 24–30 inches. Fragrant, long-lived, and clump-forming over time. An excellent South African native for gardeners who want bold tropical structure without the maintenance demands of true tropicals.

Growing & Care
Hardiness: USDA Zones 7–11; hardy to Zone 6 with deep insulating mulch. Lift bulbs in colder zones after frost and store in a cool, frost-free location until spring.
Planting: Plant large bare-root bulbs after hard frost danger has passed and soil is warming — typically May in cooler regions. Space 6–10 inches apart, 4 inches deep in well-amended soil. Light mulch once top growth appears.
Site & soil: Full sun; well-drained soil is essential. Avoid standing water, especially in winter.
Propagation: Leave established clumps undisturbed for best results. Detach offsets in autumn; allow 2 years before offset bulbs flower.
Bulbs are guaranteed true-to-name. Not guaranteed against failure to bloom in first summer, overwatering loss, or overwintering in unsupported zones.
