Gold of Bacau, a rare heirloom variety of Pole Bean grown organically in Romania Type.

Introducing Gold of Bacau, POLE Bean seed, Pole Bean - an incredibly productive Romano that matures in just 66 days! With large, flattened, sunny yellow pods and vigorous dark green plants, you'll easily notice the abundant handfuls of tasty, stringless beans. Each pod grows up to 10 inches long and 1 inch wide and contains white seeds, with 65 per ounce.

How to Grow  Pole Beans

Plant seeds in warm, sunny location after last frost. Use legume root inoculant for faster growth and moist soil in early days. Dry soil between waterings, add low-nitrogen fertilizer if plants look pale.

Save space and prepare for a high-quality bean harvest by training Yellow Bai Bu Lao beans to climb vertical supports that are at least 10ft tall. After the harvest, leave the roots in the ground to decompose and release nitrogen into the soil for next year's crops. See page 28 of our free vegetable growing guide for more tips !

Harvesting Pole Beans

Harvest beans at 10-12" length when bulging in pods and 1" wide. Snap off vine and consume promptly or freeze for best flavor.

Culinary Tips

Yellow Beans perform at their peak when incorporated into a stir-fry or roasted as a side dish. They are also exceptionally delicious fresh, steamed, sauteed, and tossed into Italian pasta dishes or soups.

Not the correct bean

I wasted all of the time growing these to find out that they were not what was represented. They do not even taste good. My money back would not even come close to the time and effort taken to grow them.
