Growing Instructions

• Start seeds indoors 8–12 weeks before last spring frost, ½" deep, 2" apart.
• Transplant seedlings 4 weeks before last frost, spacing 12–18" apart in rows 3–4' apart. Bury stems halfway up for stability.
• For a fall crop: direct sow or transplant seedlings in midsummer.
• Mulch around plants to regulate soil temperature and maintain even moisture (prevents splitting).
• Cover young plants if hard frosts threaten.
• Companion plants: thyme, peppermint, sage, and rosemary repel the white cabbage moth. Avoid planting near tomatoes or pole beans.

Harvesting
