Organic dried bay leaves are glossy green and almost identical in color on both sides. These leaves are derived from the bay laurel, an evergreen plant that grows slowly in warm regions and can be used for decoration before being dried and utilized for culinary purposes.
Cooking With Bay Leaves
Dry bay leaves, an essential ingredient in many cuisines, are often more cost-effective and longer lasting than their fresh counterparts. They are typically used in sauces and braising liquids, then removed before serving. Alternatively, they can be ground into a powder for use as a spice. Add bay leaves to soups, stews, and chicken for enhanced flavor. Use in rice for added taste.
